Only Volume & mute not working on the remote. (1 Viewer)

MediaPortal Version: 1.1.3
MediaPortal Skin: default
Windows Version: win7 64 SP1
CPU Type: AMD
Motherboard: GA870a-UD3
Video Card: Nvidia
Sound Card: Onboard
Remote: Microsoft MCE Remote / ehome

If anyone could shed some light on the following, it would be appreciated.

Fresh install of win7 64, drivers etc etc.
Installed MP 1.1.3.
Client Install only, no tuners.
Using a microsoft remote with eHome.

M/B supports digital, but i am using the analog out only. Windows has analog set to default.

Everything on the remote works as expected except the volume control/mute in Mediaportal

The MS remote properly controls windows volume and mute when mediaportal is not running, and is fully functional in Mediacentre.

When using the vol +/- in Mediaportal there is no on screen display, but the the audio effect of using the button are present.
No change in volume level or mute.

Mapping and remote settings are set correctly in the config app.

The mediaportal error.log seem to support this.

Any one offer any help?

There is a "mixer control 2" error showing up, which i'm sure relates to windows volume control settings, did you leave all the config\general volume settings at default, ie Vista\Win7 and osd fullscreen enabled.

Never seen this in logs before so I'm a bit baffled

With win7 all options are disabled (so unchanged) and OSD is checked.

It was a very standard install. I have been really enjoying 1.1.3 as it has been very reliable.
There are no device issues with the system, and the audio works flawlessly with all other apps.

Right i'm giving you my mce default xml file which needs to go in this folder C:\Program FilesX86\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\defaults\InputDeviceMappings folder, then open MP config\remotes\MCE remote and hit the defaults button save and see if any different behaviour with MP running.

I have the same problem but i`m running on Win 7 32bit and MP 1.2 RC. Only Volume and Mute buttons don`t work.
I have tried to change audio render to wave output, launching Mp with WinXp SP3 and 2 compability mode and nothing.
I have change mappings volume button on action full screen, media playing and once or twice help. But when i restarted Mp volume changing was gone
Enyone have some ideas ??

I tried many, many things, but the only solution was to reinstall windows. Reinstalling mediaportal made no difference.

The second brand new install worked fine. I have no idea why. Maybe it was a driver related. MS vs Manufacturer. That is about the only thing I can think of that might have differed between installations.
