hobbes, I'm having the same problem as you do. All my daily show files are named according to air date, not season and episode. Maybe we could get an <airdate> tag or something similar?

Usually it looks something like this:
the.daily.show.11.30.06.dsr.xvid-crimson.avi
the.daily.show.11.28.06.dsr.xvid-crimson.[VTV].avi

but sometimes it's like this:
The Daily Show 19th October 2006.avi

I don't know if it's possible to try to parse the air date in different date formats, it sounds kind of complicated.

I don't know if this plugin can solve the problem, but I hope so. I've seen the air date naming thing in a few of my girlfriend's Top Model episodes as well. For now I'll just keep renaming the files.

Oh and I don't think I've mentioned this before: This plugin is truly excellent!

Has anyone heard from zeflash lately ?

Not that he does not deserve some free time, it´s just so...unusual.....

I think, he is on vacation (three, long weeks) ....

Funny how people "know" about my whereabouts ;)

Apologies to everyone. I mixed up this thread with my other favorite thread - skin development. The good news, though, is that zeflash is working to make this great plugin even better. Looking forward to the next release.

Does anyone know how to properly name The Daily Show to have it import properly?

i think my question got glossed over. :( No one here uses MP-TVSeries to watch The Daily Show?

Just checking over @ tvdb it looks like it is treated like any other show with season and episode numbers.
So for example season 11 has 150 episodes so far.

HTH,
patrick

Even if you managed to parse every possible combinations representing a date with regexp (good luck), it doesn't change the fact that the entry point to retrieve data about an episode on the server DB is series ID / season index / episode index.
No way to ask for things by date or something else.
Of course it *could* be possible to implement some kind of interface that would remotely enable a client to ask for a specific value in a specific data field, but it would still pretty difficult to have valid matches this way.

Hi zeflash -

Welcome back!

FYI - just to thrash import well and good, I *deleted* my tv series db, and re-imported the entire 2TB+ tree with 0.5c. I should mention - I am running 0.2.1.0, and standard BlueTwo 4:3 skin.

It went great, but for some reason - *none* of the episode summary/descriptions were imported this time. There were a couple of other users that mentioned that they had experienced the same problem.

Can you confirm that this is happening, or is it something wrong here?

I can't think of anything that I would be doing that is 'non-standard', it's a pretty straightforward install, but I will do the same thing again tonight, and will post the detailed logs to pastebin.

Thanks.

New release, 0.6.
I've tried to fix most of the bugs I was aware of. I hope it works better for everyone.

0.6
- lots of fixes everywhere (UI configuration, scan handling, no more crash when the skin misses one item, etc)
- added the option to hide specific items (series, seasons or episodes) from the MP UI.
- more work on subtitles (nowhere near something useable yet though)
