Oh thank goodness someone finally made this plugin. Hopefully one day you'll figure out a way to get the videos to play fullscreen instead of from within a maximized browser window but I'm just happy to be able to use netflix with my remote.

I'm using MP 1.1 beta on this install and still am having 2 issues with Netflix 1.0.1 plugin.

After closing Netflix viewing window MP does not come back up. I have to double-click on the MP icon to bring MP back up on screen (MP is minimized, does not come back to full screen automatically).

Also, I cannot view the My Dvd list with the plugin. At Home, History, Instant Queue etc all work perfectly yet the My Dvd list never comes up. No error messages. Have redone the authorizations several times with no differences. Using StreamedMP and PureVisionHD skins.

Any ideas as to what to try?

The first issue is probably an 'MP on top' issue. One other user had the same issue, I will look into the issue further.

As far as your second issue, could you please clear your logs, open MP, open (or at least attempt to) your DVD queue. Then post your MediaPortal.log & Error.log files?

    Thanks

Sure. Checked and "Keep MP on top" is checked in setup.
Here are the logs. (no error.log. Just an error.bak file that wouldn't upload)

Completely reinstalled... Still when setting a default user, the authorization page gives an error in firefox. When splash screen loads, hangs on plugin initializing until the authorization page pops up in firefox again asking if i have entered my credentials. have to click yes or no to get into MP. Then when finally in MP, click on the plugin just "missing or invalid file:" and that's all.

    Hey Antonehenry,
For some reason your error logs are showing its not authorized...

    2009-09-21 12:21:47.968750 [Info.][MPMain]: Error initializing window:MyNetFlix.MyNetFlixMain <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>

    <status_code>401</status_code>
    <message>Expired or invalid request token</message>

    at MyNetFlix.NetFlix.Authorize.NetFlixAuthorize()
    at MyNetFlix.MyNetFlixMain.Init()
    at MediaPortal.GUI.Library.PluginManager.LoadWindowPlugin(String strFile)

Please dont take this as condesending, Im just trying to figure out which step is failing here... So to break this down, can you verify the following?

    1. After install it opens (or you open) the configuration. (Im also taking for granted you have enabled the plugin.)
    2. You click on Authorize, and it opens a browser.
    3. You enter your credentials into the Netflix site, then click authorize.
    4. The browser says you have sucessfully authorized.
    5. You close the browser.
    6. You click Yes to the "Have you entered your credentials" dialog.
    7. At the bottom of the config screen, it says in red "User is Authorized"

    Thanks,
    Wile E.

I do all that. I think it gets tripped up when I go to enter a default user. Cause it tries to authorize again, then I get that error.

I know you probably dont want to do this, but if you uncheck the Keep MP on Top it will resolve the issue for now...

I think your log may have been cut off. The first entry for My NetFlix is the deinit (so MP was shutting down) "Window: MyNetFlix.MyNetFlixMain deinit". If you get a chance could you rerun again. Dont worry about clearing your logs before, I can sift through and find what I need...

True, when you set the Default user that is when it makes its first call to Netflix. If the user is not properly authorized it will try to authenticate again. For some reason it is not authenticating the first time. Maybe it is an issue with Firefox? Could you set your default browser to IE, delete your MyNetflix database and try the config again? Then set it back to Firefox when you are finished?

It works now, thanks Wile E. You're my MP savior for the most part.

I suppose there's a lot more development to come....

I would really like to just see a list of everything with a red dot. But I'll just set up a list to browse through via the queue

Tried the new plugin and I have the same issue has I had before. When tring to play instance movie I get Netflix_remote unavaible. Logs are attached.

    :D

    Hey tlewers,
Could you do me a favor and check the c:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins folder to see if the NetFlix_Remote folder exists? If it does exist, does it have any files in it?

Does this work with the Streamed MP skin? Do I have to download a certain one?

The one posted on the first thread is for the Theatre skin only. The one posted in the Plugins section is for all other skins, including StreamedMP.
Sorry it took me so long to back to you... Yes the folder is there has the following files in it netflix_control.exe, netflix_remote.exe, wedBrowser.exe, readme.txt and folder netflix_player_buttons.

Getting "not a valid movie" when I try to stream anything. Either that or I'm getting an screen that requires me to enter in my login/password that I can't enter since the two programs in the taskbar are keeping me from entering in my information. I have already linked my Netflix account to the plugin. What could be the issue that is keeping me from using instant streaming?

Exit out of MediaPortal and open an IE session. Go to Netflix.com and login (saving credentials) and try to watch a movie. If that works, then return to MP and attempt to watch a movie...
