I am getting a crash and a WebException when the plugin tries to get guide data.

epg.log

According to everything I have read, it should be working. The only oddball variable to all this, is that I am using HughesNet as my internet provider.

When I am in the Settings dialog I can pull my channels from Zap2It without a problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Clark

Hi Clark,

After some research it appears this is/may be a bug in the .Net framework
and has to do with http keep alive / timeout on the webrequest.

There are a couple of different suggested fixes and I can look into it,
but often the fix(workaround) was to reboot (reseting the network card)
and the problem cleared up at least for a little while.

After a re-boot can you tell me if it consistently happens?

If it does I can try a code change that may fix it.

Let me know,
patrick

Here is some more information on my problem from way back when..

My sattelite internet definitely seems to be the problem. I installed MP on my work laptop, tried it here at home and got the same error, took it in to work and started MP and viola, it downloaded all of my guide data.

MCE also has trouble downloading the guide for people on HughesNet, which is why I am investigating the switch to MP in the first place.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Clark

    Only some channels get information

    Hi all,

So I'm using Media Portal 0.2.2.0 now and the latest version of the plugin. But the problem I'm having is that I only get the first 21 channels or so and then very random channels (42, 61, 63, etc.) after that. There seems to be no real order to them. I've checked zap2it's website and they have the correct shows and channels it just seems that my box doesn't download them. Does anybody know why it does this?

    Thanks,

    Danny

You need to sort them in the MP configuration.

Sorry, guess I wasn't clear. The channels are in the right order, it's just the data doesn't get downloaded for them all. Channels 1-21 get downloaded and then random channels get downloaded as well (42, 61, 63, etc.)
