    I'm still getting a "no data available" message whenever I go to the programming guide. I set up the plugin just fine and I know my username and password is good because I am able to run xmltv manually just fine. I'm willing to start my MP setup from scratch if it means getting the programming guide to work. Would someone be kind enough to put together a little step by step process to setting up MP and this plugin? The autotune feature in the wizard is sketchy and it doesn't matter anyways if XMLTV is going to dictate my channels. I was using GB-PVR for quite a few months without problems but I am now looking back at MP now that this plugin has been released. Hopefully with some guidance from you all out there I will be able to make the shift over to MP permanently.

    XMLTV doesn't dictate your channels yet. You still ahve to autotune to have a channel entry in MP. That channel entry get's matched by the plugin and it puts your EPG data into the database and associates it with the tuned channel so that when you see the guide, you see episodes and stuff.

    somewhat related anyways, but how the heck do i blow away the bad EPG data that i imported while trying to get it the old format to work?

    1. Run Configuration.exe
    2. Click Television
    3. Click Program Guide
    4. Click "Remove all programs from TV database"

    :)

    I'm still not seeing anything imported into media portal at all :(

    I know i've got zap2it set up properly because it imports into GB-PVR with no problems at all

    in the logfile, it shows that I successfully nuked the old data
    6/7/2006 10:00:46 PM RemoveOldPrograms()
    6/7/2006 10:00:46 PM sql:DELETE FROM tblPrograms WHERE iEndTime < '20060606000000'
    6/7/2006 10:00:46 PM sql:DELETE FROM canceledseries where iCancelTime < '20060606000000'
    6/7/2006 10:00:46 PM RemoveOldPrograms done

    then it looks like it's importing some stuff, but not the right stuff..

    It's still not importing my zap2it data properly. stuff is all over the place. I know zap2it is set up right, as the data is correct in GBPVR with the same account

    should I maybe blow away everything and start over?

    I need you to provide more details. I need to know the programming source (OTA, cable, digital cable, sat, etc.) you are using and you need to post a copy of your epg.log to http://pastebin.com.

    Thanks :)

    It's actually too big to display on pastebin (I tried, I swear!). I did put my epg.log up on my website though, here's the direct link: http://www.noelestep.net/epg.log and here's the error.log which I think may have something to do with it as well: http://pastebin.com/709699. Thanks for the assist. I am using analog cable tv as my source, and using a Hauppauge PVR-500 MCE as my tuner(s).

    ::update::
    Alright I have figured out the bug. It has to do with the advanced option which allows automatic renaming of channels. If you look at the error log you can see the database had an issue with adding changing the name of a channel that had a ' in it. Once this option is turned off the programming guide starts to load right up.

    Jonathan,

    Kudos for the great plugin -- it's great to finally say goodbye to XMLTV :D. I'm having a problem that was mentioned in an earlier post. There appears to be a problem with the way external channel numbers are assigned. In the plugin's Advanced Options I have "Automatically add new channels from Zpa2It to MediaPortal" checked and "External Video Input" set to svhs.

    I have cleared my guide and removed all external channels from the Tv Channel list. When I start MP the epg client adds all of the channels in my Zap2It lineup. Unfortunately, all of the channel numbers in Configuration.exe-->Television-->TV Channels are mapped to 250000/0. They should instead be mapped to 250000/origChanNum. 300 HBO for instance should be mapped to 250000/300.

    Thanks -- Steve
