Hello there !
I'm a total newbie with mediaportal.
I'm just trying to set it up to see if I can replace my broken dvd player with a htpc. (even if this rig isn't optimal)
I'm not using any TV feature on the computer, just media files/dvd playback.
Everything is working just fine, except that when I stop the current file playing, I get back to the "browse screen", and then everything freezes (the whole OS). I can't even hit ctrl-alt-del or launch the task manager, only solution being to hard-reboot.
This happens with any kind of video (divx etc..., mpeg, dvd).
If I hit 'esc' to go back and browse (showing the video still playing in thumbnail) and launch another video without pressing stop, it's OK...
As for the log files, I don't really know what to look for, since when everything crashes, nothing special seems to be logged.

Thanks for your help !
Stan

I have the same problem i think. But I never experieced it by stopping the movie (hardly ever press Stop). I use my HTPC for musicvideos and when I press back to change video or w/e the OS hangs sometimes.. I looked thru your setup and noticed the only common we have about the system is the video card, 9200SE (but I use other drivers).

Have you found a solution for the problem yet?
