just to be sure we are talking about the same thing. I do not see "combing" which is what I think of as a classic interlacing related artifact (a la http://neuron2.net/LVG/inthead.jpg) What I do get is what I'd call tear - the whole picture looks nice most of the time, but for maybe half a second, a horizontal split appears about 1/3 down from the top, with the part above and the part below appearing to be shifted horizontally with respect to each other, by so many pixels that it looks awful. Can't find a reference picture but I think its this Screen tearing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia On both SD and HD. how do I get rid of that? I'm using cyberlink pdvd8 decoders for SD and HD. I have all the deinterlace-related options left at default, there are so many do not know where to start. ATI card is set at 50hz (TV confirms it receives at 50HZ), and I am in uk so its 50hz interlaced pal tv. I have seen talk of vsync but don't know where to set that? any help appreciated. Ian
