I have recently converted to mediaportal in finding an alternative to windows media center. It is a really good package but I find that my PC will occasionally become very slow and unresponsive. Any action, mediaportal and any other pc command, will take a very long time to complete..The mouse will respond very slowly and will move in jumps when it does respond.This will occur whether I am watching live tv, recorded tv, media files or even if the PC is even sitting with mediaportal and I come back to use it later. If watching media the picture freezes and speech becomes robotic warbling, like its stuck on the same sound.
I have noticed that this sluggishness corresponds with the TVservice.exe process jumping to about 25% CPU useage. When the usage drops back the computer responds normally.
Any suggestions as to what could be causing the problem? I have attached a log file and uploaded by system details.
