fyi:
i solved my bad stuttering (every 5-10 sec.) while watching tv and/or viewing records.
plugged a new terratec cinergy pci hd (its a dvb-s2 card) in my very old "server" system with an AMD XP2200.
noticed bad stuttering within progdvb and mp/tve3. doesn`t matter watching live or recordings.
tried many patches, read many posts.
one post gave the hint to check the "pci latency" and a link to this wonderful tool:

bingo ! changing the pci latency for my dvb-s2 card from 32 to 64 solved the stuttering.
live can be so easy... ;-)
now my old server streams hd channels with 35% and sd channels with 10% cpu util ! while doing some other things...
