I have a Pinnacle PCTV HD pro stick 800e that works pretty well with the manufacturer software. The only problem I'm having is that it won't pick up any analog cable channels. I don't understand why it won't work because it picks up AIR signal perfectly, and the channels are easily found and added. Cable, on the other hand, has no signal. If anyone can help me out here, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.:D

Hi. I haven't been able to get MP to see my Pro Stick in the cofiguration tab. Do you mind outlining how you went about adding the stick? Thanks!

Sorry, you're out of luck... the 800e does not have a QAM (cable) tuner in it. It will only work with OTA signals. But please, let us know how you got your stick to show up in mediaportal!

Getting it to show up in MP is easy. I was searching around the forums and I found this

...
Adding this to the capture card config file worked for me:

<capturecard commercialname="Pinnacle 800e" capturename="PCTV 330e/800e BDA Capture" devid="vid_2304&pid_0227">
<capabilities tv="true" radio="false" mpeg2="true" mce="false" sw="false" bda="true"></capabilities>
<tv>
<interface cat="capture" video="2" audio="3" mpeg2="1" sectionsandtables="5"></interface>
<filters>
<filter cat="networkprovider" name="Microsoft ATSC Network Provider" checkdevice="false"></filter>
<filter cat="tunerdevice" name="PCTV 330e/800e BDA TVTuner" checkdevice="true"></filter>
<filter cat="capture" name="PCTV 330e/800e BDA Capture" checkdevice="true"></filter>
</filters>
<connections>
<connection sourcefilter="networkprovider" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="tunerdevice" sinkpin="0"></connection>
<connection sourcefilter="tunerdevice" sourcepin="0" sinkfilter="capture" sinkpin="0"></connection>
</connections>
</tv>
</capturecard>

This should really be in the list of compatible TV cards (With a side note saying "Broadcast only"). I guess there's no hope for pinnacle pro sticks and MP. Looks like I'll just have to stick to the original software, or just upgrade to Vista Ultima...even though I did already send in graph data for the pro stick analog...

w/e :D for your help.
