Perfect signal but continuity errors :( (3 Viewers)

Hi,

Im having a weird problem. I have a perfect tv signal but on my client i have continuity errors. I thought these were cause by bad tv signals?

Is this using RTSP (the default) or UNC to connect to the server ?

RTSP can drop packets if the network isn't fast enough - these will appear as continuity errors in TsReader log.

Hi Owlsroost,

Thanks for your answer. im using RTSP right now. This has started to happen on Sebastiiis fork with you latest tsreader changes. I have not seen this before and it seems to happen more often on HD channels. I also noticed that i does not happen for a few minutes after a restart but then slow starts. I dont think its my network speed. I have gigabit and not issues at all streaming full blu-ray from the tv server.

I will see if i can get you some logs to work with.

easy .. just start the ts buffer clips located on the server in vlcplayer.
do they stutter then ?
vlcplayer also has a info window that will report disc. errors.
also it's important that u start vlcplayer on the server itself which should rule out any networking issues.

I just tried RTSP - server and client both connected over WiFi, so as bad as it gets for network performance - with TsReader 'noStopMod51g' running in MP 1.2.1

In 90 minutes of live SD TV, I got 2 continuity errors - which is better than the standard TsReader performance in the same situation (in my experience).
