I see the numbers of channels constantly increasing and I get lost by checking them all for interesting broadcasts. Therefor PersonalEPG will help in the future to keep the overview.

P.S. I hope to get a lot of testers and feedback for ther selflearning part of PersonalEPG :wink:

I love personal EPG.

I have been looking at the Mail pluging recently which is also good.
To make it work for me I am adding mail filtering.
I want to just see mails from people/subjects I'm interested in.
e.g. MediaPortal forum replies

Anyway, to support this I was developing a generic 'complex search' support class. It will do logical searchs of this type:

(subject contains "Portal") or (from is exactly "Bob")

It will be extensible in that the fields "subject", "from" are declared programatically.
Ops supported are:

is
contains
starts with
ends with
regex

and with 'exactly' modifier to add typecasing.
.eg.

subject contains exactly "Ebay"

The point of me mentioning this, is that perhaps PersonalEPG could use this?
e.g. (showname contains "star trek") or (showname contains "next generation")

I'd also like to extend the keyboard popup to add buttons for the ops and fields which will make it easier to build search commands. Not sure what that would entail.

Bavarian - I tried to download your alpha version from the link you supplied but it appears that filecache is up for sale. Have you rebuilt this plugin against RC3? If so could you find another place that will host it and let us have a look at it?

You are right I am currently busy at work and with bug fixing for MP release.
New features will come after the next MP release. 8)

I just reloaded MP and was setting up all my shows to record. I was thinking it would be a heck of a lot easier if I could just Search for shows by NAME and have it search for the shows in the xml. I know this plugin has the ability to do this. I am hoping this feature will be added as a standard feature in the near future. Keep up the good work.
