Hi,
I noticed that when I sort my picture folders by date, all photos are showing their main folder's creation date-time. I checked that my photo dates and times are intact. Does anyone notice this?

Hi,
I reply to myself. I installed MP 1.1.0 to my fresh system and checked it on antoher fresh Windows 7 machine too. Mediaportal shows the picture files "date created" information, but it must show "date modified" in order to use sort by date function properly.
This way it just shows the files creation date and it's wrong. As en example I took a photo at 19.October.2005 and I copied it to my picture folder at 10.May.2010. When I sort my pictures by date, MP gets and shows the creation date info (10.May.2010), but it should show the creation date (19.October.2005). Otherwise sort-by-date option is useless.
Thanks.

So just to get that right.

What you are saying is that MyPictures, sorts images based on the modification date and NOT based on the creation date?
That would indeed be a bug.

Quite opposite. It sorts based on the creation date, but it must sort based on the modification date.
My scenario is: I copied all of my pictures from my old HDD to new HDD. So all the picture files' creation date is same, newer and also different from the first photo taken time and date. MP shows this newer creation time and date for all the picture files which it shouldn't.
I noticed this MP 1.1.0 RC 2 or 3 IIRC. I tried to find previous RC exes to test but I couldn't.
I hope I can explained detailed. Thanks.

P.S. Can anybody test this scenario with their pictures? Maybe I'm the only one using MP MyPictures for the pictures :)

I am sorry, but this is the intended behaviour.

    You are not.
But majority of the users names their files (properly) like [2010-07-21 some name 0001.jpg]

There are many tools which can do such renaming automatically by extracting the date/tamestamp from the EXIF data stored in the actual image.

In MP2, there will be more felxible options for the sorting to select. For MP1, we will not add such.

Thanks a lot for helps. It seemed to me like a problem with 1.1.0 when comparing to the older versions but apparently it's not. I'll rename my files.
