Got it working!

If you want the remote to respond with all the windows then you have to make them in the profiles.ini.
For me it worked.

I've been looking over your posts and I am not sure whether I have a simliar problem to the one you had. I have a Pinnacle DVB-T Dual Pro PCI tuner card with remote. The tuners work fine but i just cannot get the remote to work past opening MediaPortal.

I came across another thread that suggested that, if the remote sensor is plugged into the tuner card (which mine is) then you might as well forget it and buy an MCE remote.

I was wondering:-
firstly whether your 110i remote sensor is plugged into the card or is plugged into a com port;
secondly whether you could publish your profiles.ini as I also have Remote type B.
If anyone else has managed to get this remote to work with MediaPortal I would appreciate a post.

My remote receiver is plugged in the pinnacle card!

The remote needs to work with a little program which installs itself when you install the pinnacle mediacenter software. Its a small yellow icon in your system tray.
When its activated it will startup with windows startup.
In the remote-software map (in my case: C:\Program Files\Pinnacle\Shared Files\Programs\Remote) is a profiles.ini files in which all your remote keys are mentioned. This will have to correspond with the keystrokes in MP.
So heres my profiles.ini which works for me:

Keep in mind that the window-names i use are in dutch so you will have to change that to english !!
Best way is to open MP in window mode and write down each window name !

Forgot to mention: In the beginning of profile.ini you will see hardware-id numbers. You have to check what number your card has and change that!
Probably to 16 or so

When i got it to work i could jump through the roof of happiness, hehe.
Glad you got it working. For every window in MP you can check which keys are being used so the profiles.ini dont have to be extremely long.

One thing i noticed is that when using the latst SVN's not all the windows are in my language (dutch), so sometimes my remote doesnt respond because some window names are changed....then check with the ini file and, if neccesairy, change the window name.

I've got the same 110i card and the same remote, with the IR receiver plugging into the card itself. I've gone through the same forums you did, and had almost given up, when I saw your post about FINALLY getting it to work.

The problem is, I've copied mdingemanse's profiles.ini, and still cannot get beyond starting Mediaportal via the remote.
Any special additions on the profiles.ini needed, from mdingemanse's version, so that it does?

Actually, I have the Pinnacle Dual DVB-T Pro PCI card which, I think, is technically the 2000i card. But I think it is so similar that it can almost be the same.
I installed the Pinnacle software which set up the remote (amongst other things) and the profiles.ini file. It is from this that I copied the extra bits:-
"protocol=pcle_rc5
keymap=pcle_rc5"
Maybe yours is slightly different, being 110i.
Also, the screen names may be different. If you open MP in a window rather than fullscreen you will get the name of each screen on the top bar. This needs to be entered exactly as you see it at the beginning of each section in square brackets.
This worked well for me. I originally started attempting to translate Dutch into English but was only partly successful and so ended up doing it myself. There are generally only two different codings, short and long so it is not too difficult.
