it seems easy, but I cann't find an answer...

A lot of the movies come in 2 files, how can I play them as a single movie ?

I put them in a folder and checked the box that says "all my movies is in a seperate folder" but no good...

    10xs in advance.

    Hi

    If you rename the files

    moviename disc 1.avi
    moviename disc 2.avi

    it works.

Only problem is this creates problems with imdb. but it shows up as one in the mp list.

Is there someone that has more info.

Like all the different nameing schemes?

cd 1 or cd1 and so on.

what nameing scheme works with imdb database update?

If you make sure the filenames end with CD1 and CD2, then they are regarder as two parts of the same movie. There are some other naming conventions allowed, but this one works in my experience.

    i have been using

    moviename (year) disc 1.avi
    moviename (year) disc 2.avi

as my naming scheme , and this works great , mediaportal sees it as "one" file when browsing

only problem is the movie database update goes crazy with the disc 1 and disc 2addition to the filename.

It used to work fine though....

i have done some tests now:

This works in mediaportal but does not work in the database update:
    moviename (year) disc 1.avi
    moviename (year) disc 2.avi

This works in mediaportal and in the database update:
    moviename disc 1.avi
    moviename disc 2.avi

This works in mediaportal and in the database update:
    moviename (year) cd1.avi
    moviename (year) cd2.avi

these test where done on a rc3 install with no nightly builds.

I guess i have to rename ALL my movies to cd1 and cd2. CRAP!!

    10xs,

    It works.

Can you make it the same for single file movies ?

I mean, I want to get a standard way of plaing files - enter the directory and then the movie plays automatically.

I thought that the check box "all of my movies are in directories" (or something like that) should do the trick but it didn't.

Mybe it should be a feature - if each of my movies is in a seperate directory, then MP should consider all of the files inside as one unit and play them as one and query IMDB as one.

    Hi snirh

I have done a little mod that does exactly what you want (and some more small changes). I does require you to replace the original WindowPlugin.dll with a new one, but if that is not a problem feel free try it.
