question: I have a problem, well more of feature request if possible. rar files play nice except mediaportal cannot get media info out of them and so it cannot utilize refreshrate changer. so all the rar files play at my default refresh rate which is 50hz instead lets say 24hz for bluray rips. can this be implemented somehow?
I have just installed MP 1.2.0 Beta, and it seams that RARFileSource is not working. When I click Play (StreamedMP skin, MovingPictures), MP just hangs. I have to restart my PC. Can somebody else confirm this or have anybody managed to work this plugin in 1.2 beta?
I try to post a log, but I just cannot since starting MP in debug also causes to crash (using Videos only, no Moving Pictures), and after the crash - blank screen - the process hangs at collecting Dirctx information.
What do you recommend to try? I need this plugin so much. Can you test it using 1.2 Beta and confirm it is working for you?
Firstly you could try and uninstalling it and see it that solves the problem. Logs would still help as they are written as mediaportal starts. Just delete everything in \ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log and start in debug and zip files and post here.
Yes, it works no matter the version of Mediaportal as it is a codec like ffdshow, ac3filter etc. When mediaportal try to play *.rar the codec just "opens" the rar and let mediaportal play the files with codecs for videos/audio.
Finally, I have found the problem: it was I.F.C. plugin causing the problems. I still have to confirm this for 100%, but with the disabled IFC plugin now everything is working fine as it should.
1stdead, thanks for your help!
BTW, I see there are different versions of Rarsource available, while MP extension downloader lists v2. Which one should I use?
UPDATE: it is I.F.C., but I do not know why. But only when playing HD content, no problem with SD content at all. But it is somehow related to rar files, since IFC works fine when playing a nonRAR stored mkv file.
I think I should post this in IFC as a bug, if it is reproducible.
