I’ve just started to use mediaportal and mediacenters, so I still a newbie in this area :D

I’ve got some recordings (with subs) made with mediaportal and want to convert them to Xvid, so I can have more recorded TV on my mediacenters hard drives, but as the files is ts files, I haven’t been able to find a plugin, which will convert them directly to Xvid.
Does anyone know a plugin, that will convert ts files to Xvid and include the subs in the Xvid file, or make an file withe subs, so I can play the Xvid and get the subs?

A program that can convert the ts file (e.g. to a DVD image) will also be fine.

I’ve tried to convert a couple of ts files with MediaCoder, AutoGK and MCEBuddy, but haven’t been able to get the subs out of the ts files with any of them.

TIA

Thanx for the replay Aquarius!

No, I haven't tried it, because I saw WalkmanAA's replay in the tread:

Don't you understand that the last version of this plugin was released almost 6 months ago for a different version of MP and TV server (0.2.3.0) ........

That got me to search for another plugin - if people that have been using mediaportal much longer than me can't get it to work, the a newbie like me ............ well yo know :p

Does anyone use the MediaTranscoder plugin, with RC1?
If so, please tell and if you did something that's not in the "how to install", please let me know.

:D

Just tried to install Media Transcoder (tried it on MediaPortal SVN- 06-27-2008 19-25h - Revision19510), but it won’t see any of the files (an *.ts, an dvr-ms, an *.avi and an *.mpg file), that I’ve put into the recorded TV or my movies folders.
Mediaportal can see them all and also plays them fine.

Any ideas for what I need to do?

I have the exact same problem. It is the same for the built in "Convert" function. No files show up, even though I have lots of recordings???

I have installed the latest RC2

    Hi guys,
you could also give "MCEBuddy" a try. It is not a MP- plug-in, but could also serve the intended purpose.

MCEBuddy is fine for converting TS files to Xvid, if one don't need/want subs in/with the Xvid version (don't know if it supports multiply audio tracks, I stopped playing with it, as soon I discovered I would loose the subs with it) .

I couldn't find a program, that could convert TS files directly to Xvid and let me keep the DVB subs, so I'm now demuxing the TS files and use the results of that, to make Xvids,
