I tried to connect, but the only thing I get is "timed out".
I have .NET CF 2.0.
Even switched off the firewall, no effect.
What am I doing wrong?

Are you sure that you entered the correct IP Address & Port in both the plugins configuration and the pocketpc app?

Also, make sure you aren't trying to connect whilst ActiveSync is connected, because (at least for me) it disconnects the wireless connection.

I use 192.168.1.102 on both the PocketPC as well on the Mediaportal PC, the portnumber I use is 27001. I don't use a wireless connection. My Pocket PC is connected to a PC with IP-adress 192.168.1.101 and my MediaPortal PC has IP-adress 192.168.1.102. The way the Pocket PC is connected I can connect to the internet. I also could connect to the MediaPortal PC with MPBlue (wich I removed BTW)
I even can make a connection with the MP PC through "Terminal Services" on the Pocket PC.
BTW I use Windows Mobile 2003 SE.

Are you connected via ActiveSync (ie, plugged into the computer)? So the pocketpc shows up as a LAN connection on the desktop pc?

If so, I haven't managed to make it work like that myself yet... It will work via wifi, and probably bluetooth but I can't test that because my pc doesn't have bluetooth.

I'll look into connecting whilst activesync is running and try to get it working.

One thing I just thought of, the http server uses port 27001, so if you've set this for the udp server in the plugin and the pocket pc then you'll have to change it to something else until I make the http port configurable.

Hi Paul, great effort - this is going to be a killer extension to MP :)

I installed the .NET Compact Framework v 2 on my MP box, and ActiveSync'ed my HP 4150. The PocketPC application requires a reasonable amount of memory - I freed up some space and it seems to run just fine.

The MP box: I copied the server DLL to $MP$\plugins\process and the plugin now appears in the plugin section. When I right-click and choose configure, the configuration.exe application hangs sadly :-(

Is there a way for me to supply you with debug info?

Hi,

I changed the port to 2000. Firewall disabled. Still "timed out".
I think I'll have to wait untill you've got it working yourself.
Looking forward to it! I think it will be a killer application!
