I'm planning on building my brother an HTPC with a Nebula Electronics DigiTV DVB-T PCI card and I intend to use the DigiTV software for recording TV, as the card works better and has better reception with the PCI drivers rather than the BDA ones.
I'd also like to install MP for him to be able to watch videos, listen to music, view photos and watch the TV recordings made by DigiTV. I know I can disable the MyTV plugin, so that it doesn't appear in the Home menu but in my experience MP takes ages to load if it can't find a TV server, so I was wondering if there's any way to disable this check or anything else I need to do to configure MP to work well whilst hiding/ignoring the TV side of things?
