Hi All,

My Hauppauge card has a composite in and an s-video in. I use this to connect in a games console. Currently I have to close down Mediaportal (which I never like to do) and start up Hauppauge WinTV which takes *ages* to load but lets me use the composite channel.

I was just wondering if it is possible to add it as a channel in Mediaportal? I have searched everywhere and I can't find any discussion on this.

Thanks in advance!

Dugald

EDIT: I tried searching for svideo rather than composite, and found this: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...-tv-channel-pickup-s-video-input-cable-11220/ which I hope will sort my problem out.

OK, I haven't read all through that other thread, but I guess it will be what you need.
One thing to note though, is that if timeshifting is on, it puts a small delay in the signal, which is nothing for TV, but when playing a console game, seeing what happens on the screen a seond after the console sends it is a recipe for quick game death :)

If you are using the new TV Server engine, then you can't turn off timeshift. Just something to be aware of though, which can be hugely frustrating.

    Cheers,
    Marcus.

Thanks for the reply. I followed the other thread, but still can't get it to work. If there is a time delay then I don't think I will bother anyway. Is it possible to download the old Mediaportal somewhere with the integrated TV setup? I started on that and it seemed to work well. Not that the current one isn't great of course.

I think I will try to route the component cable right round the room and straight into my projector, and wire the audio to go straight to the speakers. That way I won't even have to switch the HTPC on if I only want to play.

Sorry for the delay, just stumbled on this thread again...

Yep, just install the latest version of MP.
When you are asked if you will be watching HD TV, then answer NO. This will install the original built in engine.

    Cheers,
    Marcus.
