Power my MP PC using Keyboard/remote (4 Viewers)

I wold like to start my PC (after shut down) by using the keyboard or my remote?

Reason, my computer is turned off every night due too noise....

on some motherboards they have a option in the bios to allow a key press on the keyboard to start the computer

you may want find out if your motherboard supports S3 standby, with S3 standby you have more power savings and the fans are cut off

I can't get my HTPC to wake from the remote, but there are many tutorials and walk troughs on the web, however I think it comes down to if your motherboard and remote are capable. if you are using a keyboard anyway it may be a non-issue because it will wake if you press a key

^^ what he said. My MoBo does allow waking from S3 and S4 via mce remote.

My mobo allows waking from S3, S4 and Shutdown from the keyboard. I've taught my Nevo remote my keyboard IR.

that's a great idea, I was just thinking of getting a learning remote and my computer will wake from a RF keyboard so an IR keyboard may work also
