MediaPortal Version: 1.2.0 Beta
Windows Version: W7

After upgrading to MP 1.2.0 Beta the PowerPC/standby button on my remote ( MCE remote and MS wireless keyboard) is not behaving in the same way as before.
Now it is like only MP is going to Standby when pressing the button. My HTPC is still on with fan and all.
Next push on button will start MP with picture immediately.

If I first close MP and then press PowerPC button my HTPC is going into normal Standby ( as before).

How can I change/configure MP to behave "normal" for PC standby ?

AW: Power PC button changed in 1.2.0 Beta ?

Since 1.2.0 Alpha the PowerScheduler plugin sends the PC to Away Mode (audio and video off, but still running in the background) when you want to suspend it, if there is still some action going on that should continue (recording, timeshifting, epg grabbing, ...). Also client activity (watching tv/recordings, media playing, MP is not on the home screen, ...) may result in Away Mode instead of standby when pressing the Power off button. In your case (suspending as it should after closing MP client) I assume that it was a client activity that prevented standby.
To prevent such problems I would recommend you to have a look at the PowerScheduler++ plugin, which is a replacement for the "old" PowerScheduler.

I have a single seat installation, so when I want to stop watching TV with PowerPC button, in my mind, the timeshift should stop.
And since I don't have/had any other activities going on or scheduled ( to my knowledge), I think there is no reason why my HTPC ( and MP) shouldn't suspend.
With or without PowerScheduler (++ or ... ).

The result is the same for me if Power Scheduler in MP and TV Server are activated or not.

Where can I read more about these new power management functionalities, the effect on behavior and how to configure ?
I don't want to waste electricity more than needed.

You are absolutely right.

Does this mean that your system is going to away mode even when PowerScheduler client and server plugin are disabled? Then you should check your system power settings: Multimedia Settings- When Sharing Media should be set to Allow Computer to Sleep. Do not set to Allow Away Mode!

Have a look at the PowerScheduler++ wiki (at the bottom of the page).

My settings were "Prevent Powersaving after inactivity" = OK behavior (before) and I have never changed it.
After changing to "Allow Powersaving" AND reboot, my HTPC is now acting as expected from my point of view.

This new MP behavior and settings with Away mode and all is not mentioned anywhere in Wiki or so. Or ?
I think it will cause more people some trouble trying to solve this when upgrading to 1.2.0
In my case I realised this behavior since my amplifier and 7" screen on HTPC never switched off.

Shouldn't it be mentioned somewhere?
And also perhaps some altenative solutions/effects/configurations ?

PS
PowerScheduler++ is so far not compatible with MP 1.2.0 Beta so one can't use it then.
And when installing Powerscheduler++ it removes standard Powerscheduler.
If then uninstalled I get standard back in MP but not in TV-server.
So now I can't get any scheduled recording?
??
