    Hi,
Nope, think this can happen on both x86 & x64 systems.
It's a bit the way you do this, since vista continues with shutdown & TV Server hasn't evaluated wakeups it set it to 1 min, if we could pause that shutdown until evaluation of scheduled wakeups this would not happen(tsts because you don't see the bug doesn't mean it isn't in there :p )

    Hi,
hehehe, the reason for why i nag so much about logs is to see if i can spot issues like this & how to reproduce them, as i found out for a long time ago. It's not a bug because i don't see them, it's just me that doesn't do it right :p

Was a bit off topic this one, but we let it go for now, hehehe :)

    Regards

    Hi!

I hope i can answer all your questions - but i first i would like to give som additional details:
1.) it happens all the time, when i'm watching TV and then press standby
2.) it does NOT happen, when i'm running MP but do NOT watch TV and press standby
3.) it does NOT happen on Win XP SP3 - at the moment i've two harddisks for the same system for testing purposes

    > Does this work if you let TVServer itself go into standby after set delay, will it stay off !!
I cannot test this, cause it only happens, when i'm watching TV - and TvServer will not got to standby, when i'm watching TV.

    >Have you got Windows Power saving settings disabled.
    Yes

    > Hope its not the imon remote itself causing the issue, as have seen similar post a while ago, just cannot remember outcome.
    I hope so too :-(

    > If it does successfully Standby\hibernate, can you resume with remote.
    Yes

    > Is this a 64bit issue only then, just wondering as no problem on my vista32 that i have seen, if using mce remote to standby.
No cause I'm using Vista 32bit

    Hi,
In XP TV Server can "pause" suspend & control it, in vista you can't. So in your case when TV playing, TV Server detects this as PSClient disallow shutdown & in theory this sets wakeup to 1 min(according to code) if a "going to suspend" it's detected.
So when you watch TV & hit suspend in vista, vista starts it's cyclus & supends the computer & TV-Server which isn't ready sets wakeup to 1 min so it can wake up & do what it needs to do(this it's in case of any scheduled tasks(recs, music reorg, epg grab, webepg grab or whatever)).
This it's just how Vista works in opposite to XP.........

Mhm - i can set my Power Remote button to any key i would like to - but there is no internal function in MP which sends the System to standby. If such function will be added - i press Power Down - then MP receives the key and THEN it could do what it must do until it goes really to standby - what about this solution / idea?

    Hi,
For current MP we will not add changes like that (could brake something else), Bavarian it's going to look @ this(when he has some time for that) & see what he can do, but if it requires huge changes it will not be done before 1.0 final, but thats to early to tell now... Think most ppl just leave it at MP Home & let PS do the rest.

Btw, the solution you have it's something we already have discussed, by disabling in vista the remote button suspend & catch that in MP & use it as a susp trigger, but that will require a change in remote handling(i know this could work for MCE remotes since it has been tested awhile ago, but not fully)

Mhm i meant for example my imon i can put perhaps STRG+SHIFT+K on the Power Button and if this is send to MP then it can handle the complete Standby progress. So no real Standby is triggered in windows - it only sends a keystroke to mp and mp can do with it what it wants todo. This solves the whole standby problems with Vista - see for example the standbywatcher (which is then also not needed anymore)

    Hi,
That will not be a solution for other remotes, about standbywatcher i have not tried it yet & MP today will require some new code & we have a freeze so it will not be added before 1.0 final (if it's not a fully patch, fully tested without any bugs it's added ;) ).

For XP standby can be put on hold on vista thats not possible(according to M$)

    Regards
    Roy
