I'm having so many problems with RC2 that I don't know from where to start :( . I'll post them one by one, and unfortunately go back to 0.1.3.0 because it isn't usable for me as it is now.

    First one:

My PC will no longer hibernate. It crashes and I have to reset it. PowerScheduler is set up to hibernate after 30 minutes of inactivity and turn off TV before. But even with MP idle in the home screen, it will crash when trying to hibernate. I didn't have this problem with 0.1.2.0, 0.1.3.0 or 0.2 RC1. This is a stopper for me, because that means that the HTPC must be on 24h a day. MediaPortal.log included in case it can help.

BTW, I don't know if this is relevant, but I upgraded this way:

    1. Backup
    2. Uninstall Media Portal WebInterface (MPW)
    3. Uninstall Media Portal
    4. Remove remaining files and folders, except databases
    5. Install .Net 2 (without removing 1.1, as recomended)
    6. Install Media Portal 0.2 RC2
    7. Set up everything again with the wizard and configurator
    8. Install MPW
    9. Set up MPW

Well something is very wrong here. First time it tried to hibernate, MP ended up with a black background and every other bitmap was not present. The second and third time it simply crashed the system. I'm testing it once more.

With 0.1.3.0 it was set up to hibernate and this has worked for coutless times; in fact the power button of my HTPC is set up to hibernate, I never turn it off. It worked with total reliability in the past.

    Hi !

i have to support igalan. I face the same problem with MP0.2.0 RC2 and the following releases (CVS). Hibernating worked perfectly with my setup for RC1 (and still does, when switching back to RC1 setup). Windows built in hibernate works perfectly with MP running, either with RC1 or RC2 -> Hibernates PC when Power Switch is pressed.

Only guessing, but Igalan and me are running with Hauppauge Cards -> PVR 350 mainly, me with both of them 350 and 250. I spied no Hauppauge card in your setup infinityloop, so maybe...

It's good to know that this problem is not exclusive of my setup. I hope that this can help developers to trace the source of the problem.

    Update...

Played around with Advanced Options of Power Scheduler:

    1) Forced Shutdown deactivated
    Disable TV Cards... activated

Behaviour as told above. This Setup was necessary to get proper hibernate with RC1 for me. :(

    2) Forced Shutdown activated
    Disable TV Cards... activated

Hibernate works ! -> But restarting after hibernation crashes. PC stops after memory has been restored.

    3) Forced Shutdown deactivated
    Disable TV Cards... deactivated

Hibernate works ! Restarting works also ! :jawdrop:

Hibernation is possible with active TV only in First Level of GUI (MyHome?)
With no active TV hibernation worked flawless at least in one other submenu also. -> This is perfect behaviour from my point of view ! :D

I have no "confirmed" idea, if timing of scheduled recordings is OK or not. I expect them to work also, as i found my PC active at a scheduled time & date, but stopped after restoring the memory from disc. (-> See state 2 above.)

So at least a workaround, maybe also for igalan, but still leaving questions...

I will now go on and finish my setup for RC 2 and check the recording features.

Despite this small issues MP is still THE suite for media centres IMHO.

I will try if deactivating both options as in your test 3, it works for me or not. Thanks for posting :) .

    One month later...

Well finally I had some time to install 0.2 RC2 again :) . KaiTV, with the third setting it's also working fine here! Last saturday I installed it, and it's been working since then, hibernating and starting twice a day.
