Hi SilenTyl,

I had no idea that you needed to reboot for changes to take effect - thanks.

Do you have any idea around how to keep the machine awake between 17:00 and 22:00 through the "prevent from standby option??

Also, is there a setting to allow the TV Server machine to wake from sleep when a separate MP Client machine trys to connect i.e. the 2nd seat machine? I must admit, I have not had a good look around in the forums or manual to find the answer

Any help appreciated.

Graham

My system is now again up-to-date, all plugins enabled, and the shutdown works fine (hibernate). No clue to why it failed before...
Fingers crossed and hope it continues working well.

(SilenTyl: after upgrading to the final 1.1.0 I rebooted several times, but this did not make the powerscheduler work in my case. Something went wrong during the upgrade from RC6 to final. Before it worked fine, after the upgrade powerscheduler wanted to shut down the sytem, but then there was always a wake up immediately).

Anyway, thanks all for your support!

Hi All,

Still keen to know if anyone can help with the "Prevent Standby" options for between 17:00 and 23:00.

In terms of waking the TV Server machine from a multiseat MP client, I'm having issues with this - I have activated the WOL (wake on LAN) option and tried setting the MAC address from the router, but still nothing - can anyone help here?

Thanks

Graham

PS: Standby S3 sleeping and waking via Powerscheduler is now working fine :)

    good to hear its working for ya!

    i just did a complete reinstall of MP - messed it up somehow with svns and old plugins (dont mix lol) - and im yet to give it a go...so ya ..ill hopefully have an MP that doesnt go to sleep on me when im watching something in "my videos"

    anyway...to make MP wake up when in standby by opening a client on the same LAN (since it will lookup the tvserver on the sleeping server)...i found u need to setup 2 options..1 is on the tv server config and the other on the MP config client u are using (not the same pc as the server)...u need to lookup the MAC address of your server NIC card and type it in exactly (thats the IPv4 MAC)...i did it the other day and it worked perfectly via wired LAN

    Hi Silentyl,

    Ah .... I typed the MAC Address of the router.

    How do I find the MAC Address of the NIC Card on the TV Server? I selected the "auto" option while the machine was awake which didn't work - I take it that is the wrong one??

    Graham

    Hi Again,

    Off the topic, but I have noticed my machine since upgrading to V 1.0.2 Final seems to be recording to the TVServer/Recordings folder, but creating another folder for each channel with the recording folder for the show underneath e.g. TVServer/Recordings/TV1/{filename}

    Any idea where this setting is??

    Also is it OK to move the folders across to the root folder and remove the ones MP has created for the channels??

    the NIC card on your TV server..u should be able to find it under my computer->manage->device manager->network adaptors->*ethernet NIC bla bla* properties

    the recordings folder can be found (and changed) in the tv server config..im not sure its possible to split them by folders/channels..but its more of a behind-the-scenes setting anyway as recordings are just put into your tv database - but i do also like to see my recordings in "my videos" so i have a share set up that way..but not with folders

    Guys,

    Thanks for the info on the MAC Address - appreciated.

    In terms of recording folders, I used to have everything under TVServers\Recordings however with V1.0.2 it seems to have created the recordings under an additional folder with the channel name and then a folder by default for the recording e.g. TVServer\Recordings\TV1\ITM Fishing Show\{Filename.ts}

    I would like to point all recordings to TVServer\Recordings. I understand the settings are under the TV Server Config --> Recordings but cannot see anything to repoint them - is it the "fprmat" options??

    How do I find the MAC Address of the NIC Card on the TV Server?

    At a command prompt on the server, type "ipconfig /all" - find the right adaptor in the list, and the MAC address is the "Physical Address"

    Tony

    Hi Guys,

    I used the MAC address as you both described, but the machine still does not wake from sleep - the MAC address was also the same one that was created if I select the auto option while the TV Server machine is awake.

    Is there a setting I need to consider under the "Network Monitor" tab? The machine is in S3 sleep - does that matter? I can get onto the TV Server machine with the client, so all the port options are OK on the Windows Firewall. What about Vista operating system options such as power options and settings within the BIOS?

    Any help appreciated.
