Since i had some bluescreens and felt uncomfortable with vista i thought just to use xp for my htpc. Espacialy because i do not want to try VMC any longer. MP run fine on vista, PQ was good.

Today i installed all new - but using windows xp. The PQ in life tv right now is worse. I have a noisy picture - looks kind of "analog" if you let me say so.

Are there so strong differences in PQ with XP vs. Vista drivers?

Tried PureVideo Codec and PowerDVD 7.3, PQ is just not as goog as it was with vista. Shoud i start again with a fresh vista installation - are the drivers realy that different? It looks like some postprocessing is missing using xp.

I am sure its not only the PowerDVD codec because PureVideo ( installed it only on xp, just to test ) did not help and even HD movies using coreavc look worse.

Anyone who had the same "issues" or does know if it could realy driver related?
