No, you definitely need powerscheduler working.
I am running 1.2 beta MP and the appropriate powerscheduler++ for that beta (XXX).
In the settings General Tab I have "HTPC" selected and a tick in "Show individual settings (advanced)" and a tick in "Only allow standby when on home window".
On the Advance Tab I only have a tick in "Wakeup system for various events" (worth noting that I have "(Hybrid) Sleep - S3" set in the standby mode dropdown box (maybe this might have an affect on MP allowing sleep (even though I don't have any other options selected on that page)????
