hi,

i have a problem playing a .mkv file with the internal MP Player.
Strange is the same .mkv file with only video is no problem, but
the .mkv with video and two audiotracks doesn't work.

When i start the movie from my videos the Haalimediasplitter
comes up but the MP Player will not start. No sound and no Video ...

I had a look at the mediaportallogfile and especially this part seems
the problem :

RenderFile(String lpcwstrFile, String lpcwstrPlayList)
bei MediaPortal.Player.VideoPlayerVMR9.GetInterfaces()

O.K. this is a VISTA 64bit system with a NVIDIA 8600 GTS graphiccard using the 162.22 driver.
Most of the threads having a similar error message are pointing to the VMR9 compatibility of the
graphiccard, but that shouldn't be the problem with my card.

the bigger part from the log :

i forgot to say that the mkv files play fine in WMP ...

Does somebody know which memory this error means ... no other application or Windows
says something about a damaged memory ...

( translation of the german part : tryed to read or write in the protected memory. This is often a pointing,
that other memory is damaged ... )

    Hi,

well Vista isn't really fully supported especially 64Bit. I would assume its a driver issue, especially because of the VMR9 error...

i am not so sure about this ... on one hand i think yes that could be because on
my 32bit VISTA system its running. But on the other hand why does it work for
other files ( ts, mpeg etc. ) with the same filters if it is really a driver problem ...

Especially why VMR9, but by the way why do you think it's a VMR9 issue ?
( video only works, but with audio not )

I am not really sure, but i think i had mkv running a while ago but i can't
remember all the changes. I will try a complete reinstall but with RC2
and newest snapshot and with ffdshow ...

Help would be if somebody could point me which part the problem is, is it audio,
video what ever ? could somebody imagine the audiodriver could be the
    problem ?

I have some issues with it. I have a Realtek onboard sound on my Gigabyte P965P DS4
motherboard. The thing is since i had trouble installing the newest driver by installer
and than installed the driver manually, i can't deinstall the software and driver. Every
time i get the error "please be sure the last installation is finished .... "

Which installation ? i would love to absolutely deinstall my soundcard driver and
software but i don't know how ... by the way my motherboard was marked as
    VISTA ready :D

Somebody an idea how to absolutely deinstall the Realtek software/driver ?

    Hi,

well. Sorry, I overlooked the audio hint. As you said, seems to be a audio driver issue. How about .mkv with only one track in it?

Does Vista have a "Sicherheitsmodus"? Perhaps the driver can be removed there...

oh yes, that's not that bad idea. I think you mean the "abgesicherter modus",
yes VISTA has also this modus but i tryed it this morning but no chance
same message that i should finish the last setup or close other program
    first ...

I think i have to contact Realtek as the manufacturer of the onboard
chip. But first i try deactivating the onboard sound and than starting
with MP ... will have a look what happens ...

Edit : yes like i thought before, if i deactivate my onboard audio the .mkv
file starts like it should but of course without audio ...

I will try to contact the support or maybe i have to buy a soundcard ...
