    Hi,
in my tvseries, files can only be played with much difficulty. Sometimes it takes up to 5 times trying to get things to play.
This is not the case with movies, so i guess it is not a codec issue.

All is located on a local hardrive.
Installed the latest version of my tvseries.

    Anyone?

Do the files play fast in MyVideos then? MP-TVSeries relies fully on MediaPortal for the actual playback, so use the internal "Videos" system to see if the files play fine directly. Only when they play fine then, is it really an MP-TVSeries problem, otherwise you do indeed have a codec or setup problem.

Yes , that is what is funny about this, all other video plays fine. Just in my tvseries it takes upto 5 tries to get a file to play.
They play, it is just that they don't "take" everytime you try to play a file...

    Hope this makes sence....

    That doesn't help diagnose it.

Does the *SAME* file that does not play immediatly in MP-TVSeries play fine without the same problems you mention in MyVideos?

The fact that other files play fine doesn't help, only the same file playing fine on one and not the other can help diagnose a problem.

For example your problem might relate to MediaInfo DLL problem, which you can fix by using a modified Core.DLL (you can compile it from Mantis, or wait for MediaPortal v1.1.1), or grab the MediaInfo.DLL that has hardcoded v0.3 parseSpeed settings. But there is no way to know for sure, because you are not providing any helpful diagnosing methods to deduct the right solutions, such as proper debug logs that would make things a lot easier.

Had some time on my hands, so decided to do some investigating... ( instead of the lazy thing, and just post up a problem ;-)

It turned out to be .mkv files (with, i believe subtitles.) upping the shared memory for the GPU together with disabling subtitles did the trick.
Tomorrow i'll try to enable the subs on file start again, and see if it's the subs or simply the memory issue...

Thanks all, and i promise from now on i'll try a little harder myself...
