Problem playing some DVDs (1 Viewer)

Synopsis: When playing some DVDs, I just get a black screen instead of the DVD menu. Other DVDs play perfectly OK (including menus). If I change the video render type to VMR7 it works although with a lot of flickering when moving the mouse or showing OSD. The same DVDs are working ok with Windows Media Player 10.
Any help will be very appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Saw that thread. I have been using

MPEG/AC3/DTS/LPCM Decoder
MPEG2DEC Decoder
DVD Navigator

for over a year and just recently have started having problems like getting a black screen (but hearing sound) when putting in a disc, dvd not playing at all, menu getting all freakish, etc. Pressing stop and then play usually fixes the 1st problem. I just did a fresh install of RC2 with no CVS and will try that tonight as this is getting very frustrating... but it's my own fault by playing around with the CVS stuff.

Guess I just lucked out recently because I am using one from 01/30 and most stated problems have vanished ... except for the dvd menu issues. I also switched to the nvidia stuff so that could be involved ... so many variables it's a tech support nightmare. Guess thats why Microsoft has their standard hardware requirements fot Media Center :shock:
