    Hi,
i'm new user of Media Portal: it's a great software !!
I have a problem when i start and stop playing videos; if the video i play is avi (xvid or divx), when i start sometimes MP close itself; if the video i play is DVD (with VOB files) the same think happens when i stop it.
Media Portal don't crash, simply close itself: i try to find the process but there is no process open of Media Portal.
After 2-3 times, i can playing my video.
Someone have the same problem ?
    Thank You

Done, but i'm not sure MPEG Codecs are correct: i had installed only VLC Media Player 0.8.6c and DivX 6.0 codecs; i find the MPEG codecs name from the system information.
Now all the fields are complete.

Microsoft do not supply mpeg2 codecs for xp use, only mce versions.

you have MPV & MPA codecs set for at least DVD mpeg2 use, can see that from your logs :), these are usually the default for Movies\TV too.

Might be worthwhile trying another codec, such as the PowerDVD8 one, download the trial and install, this will then let you select there codecs for video within MP config, i personally use FFDShow for audio codec, i find no problems with this.

Also worth trying is changing the the directshow filter renderer to EVR, this is found under MP config (expert mode enabled top right corner), you need .net3.0 installed for this to work.
