i've had almost the same problem with my set up ever since i formatted and reinstalled everything except i have an ati aiw 9000 pro and everytime i watch video it will black screen on me at random times usually anywhere between 10 mins to an hour
to make sure it wasn't a heating problem i tried just playing videos in wmp and media player classic as well as using the new yahoo go for tv software and it never black screens not even once using those and i can watch hours and hours of video yet it continues to do it over and over again in media portal
