Hi all, i have a problem with MediaPortal and with WMP.
When I see and hear some Movies i hear both English and Italian speak !

I have installe only fddshow as codec.

I thinks that i have this problem only with ac3 audio codec !

How can i resolve this issue ?
Thanks in advance, Sandro

The problem is that there are two audio streams in your file.

If you are running not in full screen mode, you can click on the FFDSHOW audio icon in the taskbar and you will be able to raise/lower the sound of each track to prove this.

Then, basically you need to set up a media splitter, maybe like Haali Media Splitter. I got it installed for free when I installed codecs to play mkv files from here: http://www.cccp-project.net/

So anyway, you can then configure your media splitter to not play one of the tracks, or not play subtitles, or always play them, or whatever.

I am not sure if there is a way to actually deal with multiple audio streams while inside media portal (turn them on or off/switch them) maybe there is and someone will tell us about it.

Thanks very much for replay.
Now i have two problems:
- the first is that when i play an avi movie i have only one icon in notification area and it is the video decoder icon, i can't see the audio decoder icon !
- the second problem is that i, my wife and my three year old son use Media Porta in full screen mode, without mouse, only with a media center remote control, and i can't explain to my wife how select the correct language from notification area .... ;-)

Any idea ?

Thank again,
Sandro

Hello,

I found this thread: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/switch_audio_stream-t21752.html

And then I looked here on the wiki: http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/KeyboardShortcuts_My_Videos

That seems to mean that you can dynamically switch audio streams with the "a" hotkey on a keyboard.

So that is a much better solution than what I said above. I am sorry I did not know about it, it's never been a problem for me. :)

Now, I expect you can go into the "remote" mediaportal configuration and change one of the buttons on your remote to do this command. Or at the very worst you could install a program like girder to press the "a" button when you hit a remote button.

I guess you could use a program like girder to map a button on your remote to this key.

As for the reason you don't have a ffdshow audio button - well that is probably because you're configured to use some other audio filter by default. Again you can change that in the configuration. If you're just playing the file in windows media player, that uses "the last one you installed" by default, so it might be different to what you configure media portal to do. You can play with both and see what I mean.
