Vasilich, thank you also for your comments - they are good.

The only other thing I would add is to check the preferred network provider setting:

Try "DVBC" instead of "generic".
Sometimes tuners can be picky about that setting for reasons that I don't really understand. Maybe the sequence of commands to the driver; maybe some parameters not set as expected; not sure...
