ALoha everybody!

I'm using MP now for 3 days, and i have to say - its one of the best peaces of software I've ever used, congratulations!!!

i got one problem though: i want to use, foobar2000 (v.09) within MP, what should not be a problem as there already is a plugin.
however this plugin requires to load a "httpserver_ctrl_dll " into foobar2000. foobar however doesnt want to load this dll... Is there a solution to this problem?

Aloha, klaus

I'm using foobar2000. I'm currently reinstalling my mp machine, but once I get it up and running I'll post back and tell you how I did it.

HI,

thx for your replies!

per: i dont get the chance to do any crosses as foobar doesnt load the component

(error: Failed to load DLL: foo_httpserver_ctrl.dll
Reason: This component is missing a required dependency, or was made for different version of foobar2000.)

Jetboy: I'm looking forward to your experience report :)

maybe the http-plugin doesnt work in the newest foobar anymore :-?

if thats the reason, anybody have a download link for an older version of foobar?

THX so far
klaus

I suppose the foo_httpserver_ctrl plugin is designed for v0.8.3 of Foobar2000 and will not work for v0.9. Unless they release an updated version of the plugin I guess you'll have to find an older version of the program. For those of you still wondering, this is how I got it working:

1. Install MP (duh!)
2. Install Foobar2000 (duh! again)
3. Download the foo_httpserver_ctrl plugin
4. Make sure foobar isn't running
5. Place the file foo_httpserver_ctrl.dll in your <foobar2000>\components directory, i.e. C;\Program Files\foobar2000\components
6. Start foobar2000
7. Go to the foobar2000 menu > Preferences
8. Expand "components", select "httpserver remote control"
9. Press the "start service" button, check the "start automatically" box
10. Press "save all" button, close and exit foobar
11. Start MP Configuration
12. Go to Plugins, enable the foobar2000 plugin and open its configuration
13. Browse to the location of your foobar2000.exe
14. Add any extensions you want to play in foobar
15. Exit and enjoy!

Edit: It turns out that only version b1 of the plugin is working with MP. In other words, you probably can't run a newer version of the plugin so I guess the only way to make it work is to find v0.8.3 of foobar.

I tried to contact the author of the httpcontrol plugin if he will port it to the new v.0.9 SDK but he doesn't answer.

I was already half through implementing the http controls (the current MP plugin just uses local window messages) as I realized that not all commands which are need for MP are supported.

Now I'm reading Hydogenaudio forums and asking developers what is the best best to control foobar - as soons as there is a stable plugin for foobar 0.9 I'll rewrite the support for MediaPortal.

Nevertheless foobar 0.83 works very nice and stable ;-)
