problem with playing DVDs (1 Viewer)

MediaPortal Version: MediaPortal_Setup_1.0_RC2.exe
MediaPortal Skin: Monochrome v2.2.878 <-- doesn't matter
Windows Version: Vista x86 SP1
CPU Type: X2 4850e
Motherboard: MA78GM-S2H

Settings:
DVD video decoder: mpv
DVD audio decoder: mpa
and I have also PowerDVD Ultra 8.0.1730 and Nero-8.3.2.1b installed


I've got a problem with playing DVDs from my HDD:

some DVDs can be played without any issues
but sometimes it doens't happen anything when I start the DVD

or for example SAW IV:
if I start the DVD from the nework HDD the menu appears for 1 second and then it closes down again
but the sound continuous and the movie is running in "My TV"
--> if I click on the running movie, nothing will happen

please help me,

PS: I've MediaPortal installed on a 2nd box with the same settigs (I think) but on XP
there I can play i.e. SAW IV without any problems

Check your codec installation.....following the "Goose's codec guide"

I realized the problem:

It happens only with DVDs which are stored in the network.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

There are a lot of problems with accessing network files, but no solution that I'm aware of....it could be related to your problem.. :sorry:
