I have a similar problem.

somteimes after waking up from standby the screen of my TV is black until I hit a key, or move the mouse.

I have recognized, that every time the screen remains black, windows did NOT send the WM_POWERBROADCAST-Message (PBT_APMRESUMESUSPEND and/or PBT_APMRESUMEAUTOMATIC) after resuming. First when I hit a key, the WM_POWERBROADCAST messages arrived.

This behavior is only if the TVservice is running.

To avoid this problem I have wrote a small script which stops the TvService before the system is going to standby. And starting the TvService after resuming.

But the question is, why the TVservice produce these trouble.

The configuration has a setting to "Turn Monitor/TV On after standby" on the general settings. Did you enable that? This sould have been added to fix this kind of problems.

Has no effect on my Philips HDTV, but may have a result for other users.
If anyone reading this has a LCD\TV that can be controlled by the HDMI feed (on\off) please let everyone know.

Thanks

Same situation with me. "Turn Monitor/TV On after standby" does not have any effect (with my Hyundia Q321 LCD/TV). Or at least didn't have couple of weeks ago. Haven't tested with latest SVN.

I can now confirm, that this Standby issue was caused by Technotrend C-1500 cards or their BDA drivers.

I removed the cards and their drivers, and I was immediately able to resume from standby!

I did some testing with clean windows installation.
With standalone Mediaportal (+latest svn):
1 x Technotrend C-1500 card, working OK
2 x C-1500 cards, no TV-stream.
Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C, working OK.
TT C1500 together with Terratec 1200C, Terratec did't work.

Then I installed MP Server (latest svn)
1 x TT C-1500, no TV-stream.
Terratec 1200, works perfectly (also multi-channel recording, which is not working with TT-card!).
And finally tested also Terratec 1200 with TT C-1500, I got Blue Screen of death right in windows boot. This was finally enough for me. I will get rid of TT cards and get another Terratec 1200.

So based on my experiences I can tell:

Technotrend C-1500:
* NO multichannel recording.
* NO powermanagement
* Lots of problems in startup (getting TV-stream required multiple reboots)

Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C:
* multichannel recording OK
* powermanagement OK
* no problems with startup

    Hi, blimey you've dug up a old post here, might be worthwhile giving some system specs on this one, graphics card, TV make\model and type of connection you are using between them.

    Only had a problem with activating screen and had to do it with a mouse, when a screensaver was active (not used now).

    Ok here my technical system Information:
    PC: Hermes 651 Barebone
    Grafik: NVidia GForce FX 5200 (PCI)
    RAM: 512 MByte
    CPU: Pentium 4@2.8GHz
    TV-Cards: 1. Terra Tec Cinergy 1200 DVB-T (PCI) with BDA Driver (Version 4.8.0.15)
    2. Terra Tec Cinergy T2 (USB) with BDA Driver (Version 2.3.0.24)

    OS: Windows XP Professional SP2 with latest security patches.

    I think I have the problem also without the USB-TV Card, but I am not shure.

    My work around in the Moment is to automatically stops the TVServer before going into standby, and restart it
    automatically after resuming. This works great, but I have to write an external tool to do such things.

    Is it possible to make another option to do it internally from MP?
    For example if the TVServer detects a standby request, it could close it self. MPClient would restart the TVServer
    after resuming.

    I had the same problem here. What I did to work around this problem is to install the latest version of MST (MCE standby tool) There you can check some Vista specific check boxes. According to the author, these have some side effects in XP as well, which solve my problem.
