This is quite interesting. I had problems with configure.exe crashing during an autotune for a DVB-S card. I noticed this comment yesterday and took a look last night -- sure enough MP was not using my Nvidia Decoder -- but was trying to use MPA/MPV. I changed the settings for that decoder and the autoscan worked perfectly !

Definatly looks like a bug in the SVN.

Mpa and mpv overrides not only mediaportal, but directshow settings in general. After the filter registration I'm not able to see any mpeg files with mediaplayer. And if I unregister the codec, I have to re-boot the system to see mpeg files again (If I don't reboot mediaplayer says that it does not have the codec, instead of using some other, like intervideo)

I think same happens to me for MPA only (but for video I think the codec I select works - because I see differences)

I tried with graphedit and MPA is the decoder all the time...

Problem is: is there a way to tranform an AC3-stream to a dolby prologic stereo signal so that we can make use of our old surround system at least a bit?

This is just a matter of configure AC3-Filter correctly

This is fixed as of mediaportal-svn-05-17-2006--07-44.rar

Remember to hit "Reset" once since previous MP versions borked them..

If now MPV/MPA is used instead if previous configured filter this is just due to the fact MPV/MPA were re-registered after the former used codec. Try changing merits..

I have some problems with AC3 passthrough and maybe it´s related to this. I'll try the latest from CVS.

I'm a bit new to MP, but I'm learning.

On MPV's config page there are two buttons "Reset" and "TV defaults"

AC3 works very well so maybe it is just a config issue - please report back if you need some more help.

I have done som serious digging and found that the problem has to do with choosing "default waveout device" in MP. I have posted a question in General support as I thought that would be more appropriate.
