I have some 1080 mkv files that are playing, but the sound is not synced.
And i have two mkv files that wont start at all.
When i go to properties on the files that wont play and click on media, it is empty. Other movies have info there. Can this cause any problem?
But they play ok in VLC.

My machine are plying other 1080 mkv filew without any problem

Anyone know what the problem is? :D

get mkvtoolnix, see if that will do anything with them, only thing i can think of, unless they are dummy files you have downloaded.

    Thanks.
Dummy files are you talking about "false" files?
    They play in vlc.

What framerate are the .mkv's you're trying to playback??

I use MPC with coreavc, vsfilter, ac3filter and reclock. I then change the refreshrate depending on what Im watching to 24, 50 or 60 hz (blu-ray/23.976 fps stuff, PAL, and NTSC at 29.97 fps respectively)

I now need that refreshrate plugin working to switch the refreshrate automatically for me depening on the framerate in the media...

I'm having a problem with playing back my 1080p/24 mkv's at 24hz. The video is fine, but the audio slowly becomes unsynchronized, takes about 30min and then you can notice that the audio is playing faster than video. I tried reclock but I kept getting an error saying my video card isn't supported. Can you please test without reclock if you get the same issue? I can play my DVD's at 24hz no problem and audio is synched. But for mkv's the audio drifts.

What are you using for your audio codec for these? I'm using AC3filter and notice no issues like this. Just curious.

I have this problem too. It can be a combination of things. For me, I use ffdshow and use the noise filter which plays havok on 1080p mkv files. I believe the issue to be my CPU (an Allendale at 3.5GHz) since it is doing all the post processing with the filter enabled. If I disable the filter, the video plays fine. I wish there was a way to limit the filters to only certain sized videos with ffdshow, but this is a limitation I guess I'll have to live with...

Your post actually caused me to research using HA with my 4670. With HA, I can play 1080p files with no issues. However, on some smaller quality files, I am suffering from blocky and stuttering video. Changing the IDC profile doesn't help. Is there a way have HA only work for high resolution files and leave out the rest? If I can somehow work this out then I'd have a working solution without having to upgrade my processor.
