    After upgrading from 2.2.0 to 2.3.0 RC2 I can't play .mkv containers.

I have CoreAVC and Haali Media splitter installed, it still works in Windows Media Player 10

    Any ideas?

    /Jimmy

I have set CoreAVC VD under Setyp->Movies->Moviplayer H.264 VD

Do I have to configure it in more places?

playing mkv 's works like a charm here with coreavc.

when i look at your logs, then i strongly suggest that you do a clean installation of MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 RC2.
which means to uninstall MP and delete the MediaPortal folder.

you have an extree amount of db errors.

and you have only tried to play the mkv's with TVSeries plugin, right?

Here is the steps I made when the logs where created

    1. Started MP
    2. Entered MY Videos
    3. Clicked on .mkv video
    4. it blinks black and then returns
    5. Tried it a couple of times
    6. Quit MP

Yes, the database errors are from MP-Tvseries that I also upgraded to 1.2 +svn. There are more people reporting database errors with MP-Tvseries 1.2 and MP 2.3.0 RC2

I have tried mkv files in both My Videos and MP-Tvseries.

Any more suggestions before I uninstall & Delete the MP catalogue?

Thnkas for the reply, but I cant live without some of the great 3rd party plugins :)

I installed a new svn of MP-Tvseries and all the sql errors dissapeared.

After trying alot of .mkv files I got one working. The only differance is that the one working uses another audio codec EAC3 (that I haven't installed, so no audio). So I think it has something to do with Media Portals Audio settings, any idea?

for testing purpose its a good idea to try without them :)

MediaPortal isnt doing anything special. the direct show graph is build by "looking for a valid filter".
if that codec/filter is missing, then it cant play it.

or does it play in Windows MediaPlayer?

Thanks for taking the time to help, I now found what the problem was.
When installing MP RC2 I allowed it to install D-Scaler codecs.
In the Movies -> Movie Player -> Audio codec D-Scaler was selected, changed it to MPA and everything works.

    Thanks again

    /Jimmy
