Hello and good morning,

when trying to playback a recorded video sometimes the system gones to get very slow. The player window appears but is black. No Audio, No Video. When trying to change something over menu system is performance ist slow until the playback is stopped. After stopping everything is normal again.

When playing back from external main storage (video section) this problem never appears.

When using ffdshow you can see both Icons of ffdshow appearing in taskbar.

I tried to use vmr9 and emr - no change.

I tried to use different discs on different channels to check for mainboard issues - nothing changed

I tried to change configurations about deinterlacing and so on - nothing changed


Currently I have no idea what happens ....


Any idea?

According to mediaportal.log you're using the MPV and MPA decoders and not FFDshow.

Hello Andrew ... yes - in this case your'e right!

But I tried to use any kind of conbination.

Meanwhile I checked if nero interferes and made a complete new setup - no change.

Somtimes the player is starting very quick. Sometimes slow, sometimes not - strange.

Starting videos from external repository is working most fine.

A few days ago I cutted the storage
Now I'm using one SATA harddrive for system, database and timeshifting and a second sata drive for recorders repositiory - no change.


It's real strange!

Suggest you update to latest bios\drivers, link above, maybe possible to set a defined amount of gpu memory to use in the bios, instead of the auto setting, but from what i can find out about the 950gpu a maximum of 224mb can only be used anyway.

Yes, of course I updated all drivers before writing to the community.

Again .. yes, it is possible to limit grafic adapters memory.

What do you think would be a good parameter (64/128 kB)?

Hello again

Yesterday I tried to 'fullfill' everything we are talking about.

Limiting the graphic memory does not have any effect, so I maximized the available Memory - no effect.

After all I installed "Haali Splitter" as my last test. Now it seems the system is working fine.

My current configuration uses ffdshoe (Beta 6) as codec library, coreavc as h.264 codec.

Sometimes ffdshow in the normal way (both icons at the task bar).

When playing back recordings after a short but acceptable while Haali appears and after that ffdshow - not that thing I assumed, but it seems working stable.
