Hello.
In my Single-Seat-Configuration i habe problems with the EPG especially with the channel "DELUXE MUSIC".
They send the title of every music video via EPG, and so it is necessary to update the data every 3 or 4 minutes, but TV-Server doesn't so. After 2 or three clips i get the message "no data available".
With DVBDream this works great.
What could be the reason for this?
Every EPG-funcion is switched on, timeout is set to 10 minutes and refresh rate is set to 2 minutes.

What settings should i change or is this a problem within tv-server?

Hello!

Finding a list of EPG enabled TV stations that does not kill the EPG-gathering process is very tricky. This is not the fault of MP, but there are generally many TV stations on the sats that broadcast invalid EPG data.
(The twirks of EPG are in fact one of the most common reasons for firmwareupdates on Sat receivers!)

Therefore, most people have only a minimum of programs in their EPG-config, that's why you will not get much help here. Theoretically, it's functioning all OK, but in practice nobody touches his config if it is running once :).

It's the way how EPG grabbing is implemented in TvServer.
A normal Settop box grabs continouesly while being tuned to a channel.
    MediaPortal has 2 modes:
    - grab while the tv card is idle
    - grab while tv card is tuned (IT GRABS ONLY for a few minutes)

The problem with STB EPG's is that after you switched your STB on, you only have EPG infos for the channels which are on the transponder you are currently tuned to. To check the EPG for channels on another transponder you first have to tune to it.
So MP grabs all transponder's EPG while a card is idle to have the EPG for all channels at once after starting MP :)
The drawback however is that you don't have always upto date EPG like in your case.
But however i think how DELUXE MUSIC uses EPG is not how it was meant to be

    Good morning.

Well, atm EPG-grabbing doesn't work any more on DELUXE MUSIC and i don't know why. I didn't change any settings but there is always the "no data available"-message.
Restarting the system, switching to this channel and watching for half an hour has no effect.

Well, this is surely not the standard-usage of EPG, but i think the idea is really good!
