MediaPortal Version: MediaPortal-svn--02-24-2007--20-02-Rev13089
MediaPortal Skin: Blue Two
Windows Version: Windows XP SP2
CPU Type: AMD Athlon 64 3200+
HDD: 80 gb
Memory: 768 Mb
Motherboard / VideoCard : Barebone ASUS Pundit P1-AH1 with nVidia nForce chipset and nVidia GeForce 6150 integrated graphics
1. TV Card: Hauppage Nova-T Stick USB

I'm using the last drivers on every component.

I have some problems running media portal, the most annoying of all is when running full screen mode. When I run My TV on window mode everything seems to be ok but when I toggle to full screen, the tv starts working bad, with blocking, freezes...

With the TV Card software (WinTV2000) works fine in full screen. I don't know if could because this software works in overlay mode but not MP.

I'm quite lost...

Thanks for the help in advance
:D

Does this still happen if you turn TV on after switching to FullScreen?

Yes... in fact if i try to switch to full screen with my tv working, MP gets blocked and I have to restart it.
It seems to work better when I work to very low resolutions... but not sure...

    Thanks anyway!

I have tried with almost all the video decoders appearing on the MP configuration, ffdshow, MPV, Hauppauge Video Muxer, Cyberlink, Nero.... and with all of them I obtain similar results.

Post your logs, so we can see if some problem is being logged.

Meanwhile you can try disabling DirectX exclusive mode and using MPV and MPA. Don't use any post-processing. Start from a clean install of the latest stable version (0.2.2.0), that is, once you backup your current unstallation and uninstall Media Portal, any file left on the Media Portal folder is deleted.

Which log I have to look at?? There are many of them: mediaportal.log, exception.log, recorder.log, etc...

Where I have to disable DirectX exclusive mode?? The only exclusive mode I've is the VMR9 mode.

    Thanks again.

Let's start with Mediaportal.log first. Close Mediaportal, delete this log, start Mediaportal, go straight to TV, leave TV running in a window for a minute, switch to full screen, leave it for another minute and shutdown Mediaportal. That should give some clues if an error is being logged there. BTW, try both with time-shift enabled and disabled, just in case your problem is related to time-shifting.

DirectX exclusive mode is enabled in the configuration, in the first branch where you set up the general behavior of Media Portal.

Was there ever a solution to this problem? I have similar problems with fullscreen tv using the Nova-t-500. My monitor runs at 1920x1080 (native) resolution and works displays the other modules fine using fullscreen, although I does take a while to switch to fullscreen regardless of the active module.

I have uploaded a screenshot showing the problem in action. It tends to be the lower few inches of the video not updating properly and in the case of the screenshot staying on the screen even after leaving full tv mode and going to the TV menu mode.

    Any ideas...?

USB tuners seem to be troublesome with Media Portal, and Nova T-500 is a PCI USB hub with two USB tuners plugged. My suggestion is to try with another tuner, if you have one spare, to verify if the problem is the tuner. When I got rind of my HVR-900 (USB) all the problems that I had went away as well (stuttering now and then and very bad stutter after hibernation/suspend).
