Really should not be a Hardware problem, and i'm using a old Nvidia driver because it works better with my graphics card, so as long as your using the one that came with your card, or latest from Manufacturers website should be ok.

if you run dxdiag, will it go through all the tests under graphics ok.

With .net 1.1 and updates installed as well will it let you install MediaPortal 1.3.

Just trying to eliminate whether a Overlay/VMR9 problem, as old version used overlay, against new VMR9.

all the test through DXdiag run without a hitch
I have 0.2.4 installed currently
what else I have done is again uninstalled the application. renamed the program directory under program files and then went through and removed all registry keys in reference to the app that said media portal.
then reinstalled after another reboot but again get the same behavior

Hi,
Could you try to use the latest SVN & use the BlueTwo skin. Run the SVN something.exe & use the backup alternative.
There have been some issues with fonts which it's solved in SVN. Dunno if this is your problem but give it a try.
