Ongoing Project HTPC (3 Viewers)

Hi everyone

Welcome in my thread called project HTPC. I just bought a new PC for work and HTPC stuff. Here is the component list:

MB ASRock H81M-ITX - H81, s.1150, DDR3, mITX

CPU Intel Core i5-4440S (2,8GHz, 6MB, LGA 1150) BOX

HDD Seagate Desktop SSHD ST1000DX001, 3,5”, SATA III, 64MB, 8GB - 1TB

RAM Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL10 (KHX16C10B1B/8) HyperX black Series

NET Tenda W311U+ WiFi-N 150 USB Adapter

But my case is now only borrowed, ugly isn´t it?

Because I am a fan of minimalistic, unique design, and Im also not satisfied with todays minicases manufacturing, I decided to make my own from base.

Im a third degree student of engeneering so I can use a toys like 3D printer and CNC milling machines

I will start from nothing and hope that if we will discuss here everything, when we put all opinions together, we can make a very cooool case. In the end I´d like to start my first crowdfunding campaign and try to make about 50 or 100pcs for cheapest price if someone will be interested .

So my goals are:

• Minimalistic design
• Highest quality materials
• Cheap price
• And it must be cool and nice so I ´ll be proud of it

Hi everyone

Its 6 a.m. in Czech Republic and Im already in my Job (more in "about me" on my blog ). Here's not much to do so I ordered a 200W PSU which could handle my core i5 for 25$ and 200W 12V notebook power source for 30$. Check photos bellow

I think that my topic was unavaiable, I had a moderation icon in caption, anybody knows what it is?

For today, I started to thinking about design and made some renders. I am thinking about anodyzed alloy
cover and wooden front panel. See the renders

It can be anodyzed to different colours and wood can be from different trees. Top perforation is
for processor air intake and on side for outtake. What do you think about perforation?
Would you change some shapes? Dimensions of this is 210x200x80mm

Hi there. Im going to sleep, so I made a few renders with wooden front for imagine how it could look in finish. I have to choose a power button etc. etc. what do you say? =) So good night for today

Would you try passive cooling? What is the front and back now could have the heat sinks, then the front could have the rounded top and bottom. Is it possible to have directional buttons on the front? Maybe even a touch screen. I would be very interested in these the right case is hard to come by. I wouldn't even mind if they were the same width as normal stereo rack equipment as they stack nicer. Great work will be keeping an eye on this.
