Would you try passive cooling? What is the front and back now could have the heat sinks, then the front could have the rounded top and bottom. Is it possible to have directional buttons on the front? Maybe even a touch screen. I would be very interested in these the right case is hard to come by. I wouldn't even mind if they were the same width as normal stereo rack equipment as they stack nicer. Great work will be keeping an eye on this.

Thanks for response!

Passive cooling - I was considering and it wold be very difficult to do, because I want to keep it totally minimalistic even without PCI port so there will be no more than 6cm to top and it is not enough for cooling i5 passively. But in other way I think that if Ill use a wide cooler with really slow fan, It will cool diametrically more and you still couldn´t hear anything :)

Heatsinks - It´s really nice idea! But I´d have to give up of wood an furniture design :( In start, the campaign on indiegogo was just a silly idea, but now Im getting shapes of it. What about try to make a DIY kit when you will choose a type of wood an colour of anodyzing of alloy so everyone could have his own version :cool: But just a idea, who knows how this will end :D

What do you mean by directional buttons? please send som picture :(

Touch screen - sounds good, I´ll look forward for some suppliers but I don´t have any experience about connecting it maybe you can try to help me with that :) I study mechanical, not electric engeneering :LOL:[DOUBLEPOST=1390369094][/DOUBLEPOST]@Quarter - And what do you mean by rounded top and bottom? :)

    I just mean the ability to control the HTPC without a remote, by having an VFD and buttons on the front. Preferably a directional button pad (like a remote);

    And what do you mean by rounded top and bottom? :)

    Just the fact if you had heat sinks in the openings they would end up being the sides, so the rounded sides would be the front/back.
    Here's some Electrical components.

    Hi everyone

    Today I was thinking about minimizing motherboard and HDD space and here is result! :

    You can see a bended metal plate which front and back panel are mounted to, also can see a holes for MB mounting.

    I had an idea to mount 2 2,5" hard drives from the bottom to save space. I will use a small rubber washers and think that It should works fine and case dimensions are still same as motherboards :). I was watching for lcd panels and for controlling pc need some PCB and I dont know if it would fit :cry: Tomorrow I will draw render a case with harddrives and motherboard to better imagine ;) I have to go to study for exams so see ya for now and leave me comments :sneaky:

    Hi there

    For today, I was working on adding hard drives to the bottom of inner plate. I use a model of 15mm thick drive I think that bigger aren´t manufactured. But unfortunately there is a colision between cover and hard drive so I have to resize front and back panel. :(

    I have always wondered why it is popular for mini PC cases to have the hardrives and optical drives above the mobo... setting them below makes good sense to me. I've been looking at a way to convert Wesena ITX1 and ITX2 units into modular stackable components. a slimline optical drive module, a mobo module, and a multiple-harddrive bay module. Mostly so that the mobo module could be placed on top or to the side for unobstructed air flow.
