I have a problem getting Purevideo to be choosen for WMV files. As acceleration is in the Purevideo decoder I want to use this. When I check with GraphEdit I get this:

WMAudio Decoder DMO
WMVideo Decoder DMO

Are these the usual Microsoft decoders? Strange this is I cant change the merits for it? In DSFMgr it is just grayed out and nothing to be changed?

Anyone knows what this is about?

Just a matter of interest, if playing WMV files in windowed mode does the Nvidia decoder icon show in System tray.

if it does then that decoder is used, but then again, may not even support WMV files.

Just did above on a WMV file and yes not using any other decoder for playback.

No, Nvidia decoder icon is not shown. As I said, using GraphEdit I get these results:

    WMAudio Decoder DMO
    WMVideo Decoder DMO

There must be a way to use CoreAVC and Purevideo side by side...

Sorry, I am talking about PureVideo HD. Just learned that it is inlcuded in the forceware drivers. Too bad, I cant see any difference in CPU utilization.

For that to work you need a PureVideo compatible codec. Like Cyberlink's PowerDVD 7, for example. But again, that's not for WMV afaik. The drivers themselves should accelerate WMV, tho.
