    I believe this is a fairly good choice for the money you have available.

    Take a seriell-ata one if it cost the same. Smaller cables = less heat building up.

    This one might be a bad choice as you can not connect it to you MB :roll: Try one with PCI-express instead of AGP :wink:

    Looks like a ok setup. The DVD-burner is good, and the MB has gotten good reviews. OK amount of RAM.

    Hmm- You still need a case, PSU, and CPUfan --

    Allright,

    This is what i've come up with:

    * AMD Sempron 3100+ 1.8GHz Socket 754,256KB, BOXED m/vifte
    * Corsair Value S PC3200 DDR-DIMM 512MBUnbuffered, Non-parity, 64Megx64, CL2.5
    * Asus K8N4-E Deluxe,nForce4-4x,Socket-754ATX, SATA, GbLAN, Firewire, DDR,PCI-Ex16
    * NEC DVD recorder ND-3540A IDE Black OEMDVD+R/+RW/DVD-R/-RW (Dual layer)
    * Sapphire Radeon X700PRO 128MB GDDR3PCI-Express,Tv-Out, DVI-I, Lite-Retail
    * Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 250GB SATA8MB 7200RPM NCQ
    * Silverstone SST-LC03 HTPC, SortAluminium (Uten Strømforsyning)
    * MIST, 500W, 20/24 pins, S-ATA

    This should sum up to just about 7000NOk (aprox 1100USD)

    So, still need a CPU fan.

    Any comments?

    Hi Stoll -

    IMO the nearest to perfect graphics card you can get right now for use with MP would be an Nvidia 6600 (no need to go the extra heat from a GT unless you're after serious gaming performance). The video acceleration features of the 6600 (and 6600GT) will ensure that CPU usage is kept to an absolute minimum while rendering videos, TV and even HDTV - the card is available in PCI-E flavour and XFX offers a passively cooled model.

    Cheers,
    Smirnoff.
