I'm experiencing similar problems on a Asus P4P800-VM with a Hauppage PVR350. Whenever i'm using timeshifting the image starts lagging more and more behind the sound. Jumping 15 sec forward or backwards syncs the sound and image (unfortunately only for a short time) There were some CVS builds where the problem seemed less ( or non existent ). But unfortunately I can't remember which builds they were.

Btw. just noticed that when entering TV from the main menu ( mce remote <live TV>), and direct switching to full screen , then there's no lag. Switching the channel starts the lagging. when entering tv from the Guide (mce remote <guide>) then the lagging starts immediately.

If anybody wants a log file posted, let me know.

using spdif out on mainboard

Seems like my first thought of combinating PVR500 with VIA-Chipsets is not the problem here...

I had sync problems between sound and picture as well, but couldn't really reproduce them because in most cases the heavy stuttering makes it impossible to hear the sound properly at all.

Shifting back 15 seconds may be a solution if you exactly know which program to watch but not if you just want to switch through some channels. Everytime I switch the channel stuttering starts and you have to wait until you can shift back 15 seconds again...

    No fun at all...

Anyone else with general timeshifting problems with PVR-cards?

Same problem here. Changing tv-channel starts stuttering and I have to
go back to main screen and turn off tv. Going back in after a few seconds
and the stuttering is gone. I have also reported that stuttering starts when
programs in the background connects to the Internet.
Even after turning off Windows update, internet clock update
and antivirus update this happens now and then.

OK, I think I'll forget about mainboard incompatibilities...

Unfortunately I'll not be at home until thursday next week. But then I'll try to give an exact and reproducable failure description from my side to make it easier for the programmers.

Same problem here... switching channels makes everything stutter. Only solution is fast forwarding till timeshift stops.

Ive got the exakt same problem.

This bug has plauged me for some time now.

I get it on two systems.

    Config 1.
    XP1800+
    GF 5200
    KT266 chip mobo.
Hauppauge 350 and 500, not installed @ same time.
Clean install XP Pro, with latest drivers and NV decoders. (tried all the others)

Got the stuttering when changing chanel with timeshifting on so i pulled my PCs insides and rebuilt with the following config.
    Config 2.
    Intel 3000Mhz
    Same GF 5200
    ASUS P4C800-Delux mobo
Hauppauge 350 and 500, not installed @ same time.
Clean install XP Pro, with latest drivers and NV decoders. (tried all the others)

As you can see only common components are my GPU and HDD.
