has anyone had any success with getting qam to work with the hvr-1600 on comcast service. i know i have about 30 local clear qam channels that i can get (but cant for the life of me figure out the frequencies).

I've tried scanning with hrc hrc+3 and even a custom qam file, but cant seem to get anything to show up.

also do you have to have tvserver to use qam stations, as i'm only using this on my pc right now using the server dosn't make much since.

Any help would be appreciated,

Feral

I believe only the tvserver handles qam. comcast will vary by locality. I'm in chicago, and get a bunch of crummy channels, but not the locals

Thanks for the info. And i know how crummy comcast can be when it comes to doing things that they are supposed to do.

But i do know i get my locals, and about 15 - 20 other stations on clear qam. Last night i tried scanning with sagetv, every setting with media portal, and with gbpvr and had no luck.

I contacted hauppauge tech support in hopes of getting a replacement card because i know i have a sig level of 45 db on the basic digital channels with the line hooked up to the atsc part of the card but everything shows no signal.

    Regards
